Amazing Alex game for Samsung Galaxy Tab will be released soon </h2>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Rovio Entertainment, creator of immensely successful game, Angry Birds has come up with another new mobile game, Amazing Alex.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This title is re-branding of Casey’s Contraptions bought by Rovio
early this month from developers Noel Llopis and Miguel A.Friginal.
According to Mikael Hed, Rovio CEO who spoke to Yle, Finnish TV station
that this latest game “has an educational element and centers on the
main character Alex, a curious young boy who loves to build things.” The
game is expected to roll out within next two months.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://blog.beeitltd.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/6509_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="http://blog.beeitltd.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/6509_2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Casey’s Contraptions is similar physics-based game like the Angry
Birds. The game has Rube Goldberg-type contraptions made from things
such as balloons, scissors, soccer balls and buckets. Here players are
required to assemble clever tricks as well as traps and setting up that
will let Casey to retrieve his missing toys. The game Casey’s
Contraptions was released for the Apple’s iPad a year back.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last week Rovio announced billionth download of Angry Birds game. The
game was released in 2009 has four different versions, where Angry
Birds Space is latest. Added the company is also working on movie, TV
show as well as theme park based on property.</div>
Only time will tell that whether Amazing Alex will taste the same success of Angry Birds or not.<br />

But you can pre-order one at Office Max today for $399.99 or from TigerDirect for the same price.<br />
The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a modest upgrade over last
year’s Galaxy Tab 10.1, but there are three significant changes.<br />
<img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1)" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-44637" height="376" src="http://liliputing.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/tab-2-10.jpg" title="tab 2 10" width="472" /><br />
First, the new model ships with Android 4.0. Second, it has a microSD
card slot. Third, and most importantly, it has a starting price that’s
$100 lower than that for Samsung’s first 10 inch tablet.<br />
When the Tab 10.1 first launched in 2011 Samsung charged an iPad-like
$499 for the base model. Now the company is charging the same price for
its new tablet as Apple does for its year-old iPad 2.<br />
This isn’t necessarily meant to be a high-end tablet. Samsung has the Galaxy Note 10.1 for folks that want premium features including a faster processor and digital pen.<br />
Instead, you can think of the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) as a larger version of the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0).
It just has a larger, higher resolution display and a $400 price tag
instead of $250… which might be enough to turn off some potential
customers if they’re uncertain that a larger screen is worth $150.<br />
The new 10 inch tablet has a 1280 x 800 pixel display, a 1 GHz dual
core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. A 32GB model is also on
the way.<br />
The tablet has a 3MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. It
supports 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0, measures 0.4 inches thick and
weighs 1.3 pounds.<br />

The good news is that the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 hardware is good to go, and you can pre-order one at Office Depot right now. The bad news is that rumor of a delay to implement a quad-core processor has fallen by the wayside: the listing shows the same dual-core hardware that we saw at Mobile World Congress. Bummer.<br />
<img alt="" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91059" height="352" src="http://cdn.androidcommunity.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/galaxy10a_4_lg.jpg" title="galaxy10a_4_lg" width="526" /><span id="more-91053"></span><br />
Office Depot did confirm the rumor that the newer Galaxy Tab 10.1
would be getting a lower price: the 16GB model starts at $399, a full
hundred dollars cheaper than the original and well-placed to compete
with the iPad 2. The tablets will start shipping out on May 11th, at
least according to this retailer. The WiFi version is the only one being
offered at the moment, though we fully expect at least one carrier to
sell the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 somewhere down the line.<br />
The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is strikingly similar to the original – which
is why that rumored upgrade was so compelling. The hardware has changed
only slightly, with side-mounted speakers and a MicroSD card slot being
the primary differences. Though it isn’t confirmed, the 10.1-inch model
almost certainly has the same dual-core TI OMAP processor as the Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch version. The new 10-inch tablet comes with Ice Cream Sandwich installed at launch.How to marketing your business on the Internethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15266449219141723775noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763153187138039659.post-48978586768244242092012-05-04T19:57:00.001-07:002012-05-04T19:57:57.191-07:00Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 review<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-72382" height="337" src="http://betanews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Galaxy-Tab-2-7-inch.jpeg" title="Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch" width="600" /><br />
I really like reviewing products, but don’t have the time or patience
to measure battery life or benchmark the CPU, etc. I'm more interested
in how a product like Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 fits in the scheme of things. How
it suits real people.<br />
So far, I think this tablet has gotten an unfair shake among major
media. But the reviews at shopping sites tell the real story. This is a
nice little tablet. The price is right, too, and it comes with Android
4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich).<br />
<div class="articleBoxad">
</div>
<b>A Real Delight</b><br />
Inside the standard white, tight-fit Samsung cardboard box there are
no surprises. You get the unit, a charging cable, and an AC adapter. No
headphones. I prefer it that way, as I have a nice set of headphones,
and I’d rather take the cost out of the unit. There’s a manual, but I
imagine it’s a giant cut and paste of everything the lawyers made
Samsung put in the box. Leave it in the box with the receipt from the
store or Amazon.<br />
I’ll get right to the bad news, probably the worst thing I can tell
you about the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. I don’t think other reviews mentioned
this (see list later on). Samsung preloads the tablet with a <i>lot</i>
of software. A LOT. And pre-loaded software, unlike a PC, can’t be
deleted. It can only be disabled, which is simple to do. So when you
open up the Storage section of the Settings you are going to discover
the 8GB on the box translates to 4.5GB of free memory. Yep, 3.5GB is
tied up by Samsung’s stuff, and there’s not really anything you can do
about it.<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZYiTay2HKNI" width="560"></iframe>
So you need to understand that if you are going to carry this thing
around and use it where there is no WiFi you’re going to have to pick up
one of these,
too, to expand the storage. So add $25 to the price of the unit to have
a healthy amount of space to work when disconnected. If you are going
to be in WiFi most of the time you’re in luck. You get 50GB of free
Dropbox space for a year with this unit. Google Music allows you to load
20,000 songs that can be downloaded on demand.<br />
Just be sure and turn the machine off and on every other week, and you’ll be fine.<br />
Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 has a front VGA camera and a back 3-megapixel
camera. The software shutter button has almost no lag at all, which is a
big improvement over the Tab 8.9. Photo quality is good enough for web
work but not astounding. Don’t buy this tablet to replace your camera
(why would you anyway?) but it does a fine job at what I use Galaxy Tab
cameras for, mostly for reference shots and copying things I’m too lazy
to write down, or grabbing a business card on the go so I can impress
the person handing me the business card by handing it back.<br />
The camera also is great for catching moments when there’s nothing
else to shoot with. It improves dramatically when the amount of light
increases. The camera also has a lot of the standard Samsung perks, like
the ability to take a panorama picture, which is great for getting the
inside or outside of a business.<br />
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-72384" height="338" src="http://betanews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Galaxy-Tab-2-7-inch-camera.jpeg" title="Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch camera" width="600" /><br />
<b>A Fine Heritage</b><br />
Before I go on with the rest of the review, let me drag you through a
brief history lesson. It's important context for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0's
size.<br />
The first tablet I can think of is the Newton. At the time it was
awesome, but nobody could afford it, until it failed. That’s when I got
mine. I had it about 3 days, then realized for the time being paper and
pencil were safe. Pinnacle of tech between then and now was the Palm
Pilot, which abandoned recognizing handwriting for teaching you a new
way to write. The small size and the fact that it ran for a month on a
pair of AA batteries made Palm Pilot great. If you were a hardcore user
you eventually lost the ability to read your own handwriting.<br />
But like the Newton, Palm Pilot primarily did one thing -- it was a
day planner. It beeped when you were supposed to do something and put
your Outlook calendar in your pocket.<br />
Sometime in the past the mini-tablet leapt to the phone, and while
Windows versions were excessively complicated and Palms were hopelessly
underpowered that created the vacuum for the iPhone to emerge. It raised
the bar.<br />
Which leads to the iPad. The first words out of my mouth when I saw
the iPad? "It’s too big" A wave of Steve Jobs' Jedi hand and use of the
word "magical" and I bought one anyway. It was too big.<br />
It really still is. Don’t get me wrong, iPad is a great lap tablet.
When you're nestled in something that supports you to support it, it’s
fine. When you have to tote, retrieve and work with it all day long, it
gets unwieldy at times.<br />
<b>The Right Fit</b><br />
Samsung decided to try to capitalize on this shortcoming and released
a 7-inch tablet, the Galaxy Tab. It was the perfect size but had basic
problems. It was too heavy, wasn’t that comfortable to hold and had
iPad-style square edges. It had a version of Android prone to freeze
ups, and when the Gallery app went South you just couldn’t fix it with a
reset or anything. At least that’s how it went for me.<br />
Still Galaxy Tab was the right size. Fortunately Samsung didn’t give
up and today we have the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Let’s hit the high points.
The curved plastic back solves two problems: The device feels better in
your hand, and it’s lighter.<br />
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-72386" height="338" src="http://betanews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Galaxy-Tab-2-7-inch-side.jpeg" title="Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch side" width="600" /><br />
Some people have problems with the plastic back but let me tell you,
build quality on this unit is nice. The back feels solid and the
switches and buttons, too. This unit is built to last. Given the
volatile nature of technology, this tablet will outlast its relevance
and will be handed down (rather than thrown away) to make way for newer
tech.<br />
<b>Ample Resolution</b><br />
The screen is the same resolution as previous 7-inch GTs, WSVGA (1024
x 600), and that is plenty for much of what you would use a book-sized
tablet for. It’s okay for reading a book. Okay to use as a day planner.
Okay to watch a movie or TV show. Irrelevant when listening to music.
Honestly, no tablet needs to be super high-resolution for one obvious
reason: your fingers can only be so small. At some point if the
resolution is high enough you can’t tap something with any certainty. I
experienced that first hand with the new iPad when I had a heck of time
tapping between specific letters.<br />
The color fidelity of the screen is good and because it’s 7-inches
with WSVGA, it has a good apparent resolution. It’s not pixel invisible
like the “resolutionary” new iPad but it’s very close to the 100DPI
limit the eye can perceive and you are not trying to schlep 3.1
megapixels when you just want to see the next headline on Feedly.<br />
It only took a few seconds with the store demo unit to realize the screen was going to be fine for everyday use.<br />
Now about speed. I never had or used a Galaxy Tab 7 Plus, which is
supposedly faster but I did have a Galaxy Tab 8.9, and this feels much
faster than it. The page flips in the launcher are fast and my true
speed test worked just fine. I load Autodesk Sketch Plus and draw a long
continous swirl as fast as I can. If the screen tracks and there are no
skips in the line - it passes. The Tab 2 handled my speed test just
fine. All of the apps I loaded performed better than on the 8.9 and no
real noticeable lag even with a Bluetooth keyboard.<br />
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-72388" height="338" src="http://betanews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Galaxy-Tab-2-7-inch1.jpeg" title="Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch" width="600" /><br />
<b>Ice Cream Sandwich</b><br />
It’s hard to review a device that has an OS without talking a bit about the OS.<br />
This, I believe, is the first Samsung to ship with Ice Cream
Sandwich. Ice Cream Sandwich, which is different than Honeycomb (Android
3.x) but I don’t care what the OS technically is, I care about what it <i>does</i>. It still has soft buttons at the bottom of the screen, instead of hardware buttons and overall seems to run faster.<br />
The first Galaxy Tab I owned ran Froyo (Android 2.20, which was
pre-Gingerbread (Android 2.3). It was only two years ago but seems like
the Stone Age. For the most part the apps back then were mostly
Java-based layouts, and while they would capture the data the UI was
kind of Fisher Price My First Tablet looking. Add that apps crashed a
lot, and it was a labor of love to like the unit, especially with the
ridiculous overly ambitious 3-D wall Gallery app that choked on your
Picasa photos (by the way I do <i>not</i> recommend syncing your
photos to your tablet; use the Dropbox autoupload instead). Most apps
made your Galaxy Tab 1 look like a big freaking phone.<br />
Fast forward to the Tab 2 7.0 and you have a very different
experience. There are lots of newer apps with a much nicer interface and
are more intuitive to use. They look better on the screen (Samsung has
installed a Helv Neue font on this device) and there is no apparent
performance penalty. I don’t know if this is because apps are more HTML 5
and less Java these days or not but regardless you’ll have a much
better experience using this and other ICS device(s).<br />
One minor annoyance, and I don’t know if this is ICS or Samsung’s
Launcher, you can only use a subset of the screen for icons and widgets
in the Launcher, which is a square portion of the screen that is the
same portrait or landscape. In portrait mode there are two fairly large
pieces of unused screen above and below your widgets and icons -- mildly
annoying to me because I like to try to jam everything on the main
screen (yep OCD). Because the Launcher is so fast on the Tab 2, and I
want to preserve as much space as possible on the primary SD, I
initially didn't load Go Launcher EX. When I did, it was <i>slower</i> than TouchWiz -- uninstalled.<br />
Probably the ICS nicest perk: You can download and install Chrome for Android beta
from Google Play store. This gives you the ability to sync your
bookmarks in the background as well as have your open tabs move. Along
with Google Drive, this makes any Android tablet a much better work device.<br />
I need to point out the difference between Android and iOS as well.<br />
You can write an application on your PC or Mac and install it on your
Android device and run it. No developer fees. You can copy over a ton
of material to a MicroSD card and load it into your device and watch,
listen or read it. You don’t have to cloud it anywhere. It just goes
straight from your PC to your Tablet. No trips to Cupertino, Calif. to
get to Collinsville, MS.<br />
That’s a big deal.<br />
I can’t tell you how good a 3-D gamer machine this I don’t play them. I suspect it’s not the Droid you want in that department.<br />
<b>The Price is Right</b><br />
So let’s talk about the most important feature of this unit. It’s the
price. $249 USD. That’s really a deal. Subtract the $99 worth of
Dropbox you are getting for free (which takes the sting out of the 4.5GB
thing I opened with) and it’s actually<i> less</i> than the Kindle Fire ($199 USD). Let’s break that price down a bit.<br />
The Tab 2 costs:<br />
<ul>
<li>60 Big Macs</li>
<li>35 high-end domestic beer 6 packs</li>
<li>1.5 college textbooks</li>
</ul>
The new (too big) iPad -- that's the $499 one -- costs:<br />
<ul>
<li>118 Big Macs</li>
<li>3 college textbooks</li>
</ul>
So it only takes 2 months of Ramen to pay for your Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.<br />
This price point and the feature set make this, IMHO, the perfect
wired campus companion. It’s also the perfect tablet for the person who
goes home to a WiFi’d house from an open or guest WiFi’d workplace. It’s
a great coffeshop device, too. It’s a good tool to get your life
organized. Those are things that really appeal to me about this unit.<br />
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-72393" height="338" src="http://betanews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Google-Chrome-on-Galaxy-Tab-2-7-inch.jpeg" title="Google Chrome on Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch" width="600" /><br />
When the Kindle Fire came out at $199 price point, I was ecstatic --
finally a device that was affordable to lot more people. It only took
reading the specs a few minutes to realize this was a shopping cart that
played movies, books, music and selected games. It was a closed
environment that required being in the Amazon App store to market to. It
was the Apple model all over again.<br />
Now with the Galaxy Tab, we have a device at a price point that is a
smidge higher but with a lot more potential. It’s more open. If this is
not the device that kills the textbook, then its next iteration will.
This is what we need for education, and education is what we need to
make the world a better place (steps down from his soapbox).<br />
<b>Closing Thoughts</b><br />
Galaxy Tab 2 7.0's smaller size means littler hands can type on it
easily in portrait mode. It’s light enough and comfortable enough to
hold for a while. The applications available are good enough to manage
your life, and even start an Internet business with (with the occasional
help of a borrowed desktop). With Chrome and Google Drive installed,
your stuff moves with you making anywhere you can get to Chrome --
desktop, laptop, Chromebook; Windows, OS X, Chrome OS.<br />
You could easily create a USB flash drive Linux computer, install
Chrome and carry everything with you in a sandwich bag. As an aspiring
minimalist that has big appeal.<br />
There are apps that allow you to create documents (you can even pair a
Bluetooth keyboard), and you can code on it with an app like Droid
Edit. You can remote into Windows and OSX machines with an app like
PocketCloud if you needed to.<br />
So when you first look at the storage and see you are down 3.5GBs out
of the gate, you quickly get over the heartburn as you use the unit and
see it still has plenty of room for more stuff. The performance of the
unit is solid and it feels good in the hands. With moderate use I get
two days between charges (see the other reviews for actual test).<br />
Spot checking Amazon reviews, it gets 4 stars and many buyers echo my sentiments. The pros don't necessarily agree. Some of their reviews:<br />
<ul>
<li>PCWorld</li>
<li>PCMag</li>
<li>Cnet UK</li>
<li>The Verge</li>
<li>Engadget</li>
</ul>
Among these five reviews, you can find your deep geek questions
answered in full. In the interest of full disclosure I read most of them
before buying my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.<br />
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this device and, yes,
someone will announce a new and better tablet 2 weeks after you buy this
one. Don’t let that stop you. Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will be quite useful for
a very long time.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The next-generation iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III
will be the two biggest and baddest smartphones on the market this
summer. There’s no denying that. Unless you’re HTC and you’ve got the HTC One series
with the HTC One X on AT&T and the HTC One S on T-Mobile, then
you’ve got something to back up your claim that you’ve got anything to
say to either Samsung or Apple. Thusly here is my challenge to you,
Apple and Samsung – I dare you to make a more perfectly tuned smartphone
than HTC has offered up here at the start of 2012. I dare you to take
this game to the next level.</div>
<span id="intelliTxt"></span><span id="intelliTxt">
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-225693" height="349" src="http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/war.jpg" title="war" width="580" /><br />
<span id="more-225683"></span><br />
The Samsung Galaxy S line has been the best selling line of Android
phones in the short history of Android itself. The same is true of the
iPhone, except since it’s the only device like it running iOS in the
iPhone style, you can rack up the success against the rest of the
smartphone world – there’s no other smartphone that’s been in
essentially one form factor that’s sold as well as the iPhone has. You
can see the reverberations of the iPhone and the Galaxy S lineup in
every single other smartphone on the market – BlackBerry and Windows
Phones included. <br />
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-225690" height="335" src="http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/iphone_4s_sg_4-580x335.jpeg" title="iphone_4s_sg_4-580x335" width="580" /><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span id="intelliTxt">Now what HTC has done is to create a hero phone line called “HTC One”
that contains a selection of elements that clearly shows how they’ve
payed attention to the whole smartphone experience. Samsung has not been
so clear, and the iPhone has always had this sort of situation going
on. Apple’s vertical integration between their iTunes app store, iTunes
for music and movies, software created by developers specifically for
their phone, and the hardware which can be fixed by them in their own
store – all of that makes the iPhone what it is today, super successful. </span></div>
<span id="intelliTxt"><br />
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-225686" height="477" src="http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/htc-one-x-att-2NOOK-Simple-Touch-GlowLight-SlashGear-580x477.jpeg" title="htc-one-x-att-2NOOK-Simple-Touch-GlowLight-SlashGear--580x477" width="580" /><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span id="intelliTxt">HTC doesn’t offer that, but they have created a line of phones with a
perfectly well-tuned set of elements that make them more than a
competitor for the iPhone and the Galaxy S line. What they lack is
something that Samsung is getting better at every day: good advertising.
Samsung has a big enough name that they’re able to promote their Galaxy
S lineup with advertisements during the Superbowl. They’ve got enough
cash for that, I should say. They’ve also got brand trust from their
customers wishing to get the best out of their Android experience.</span></div>
<span id="intelliTxt"><br />
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-225688" height="500" src="http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/gsiii-375x500.jpeg" title="gsiii-375x500" width="375" /><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span id="intelliTxt">Now what the Galaxy S III launch this week needs to have in it are
several elements. These elements are not the same as what they’ll have
to continue to have for the phone to sell well – these are different
things – keep that in mind.</span></div>
<span id="intelliTxt">
1. A solid internet connection at the launch event.<br />
2. No live feed for viewers at home.<br />
3. Plenty of hands-on time allotted for all attendees.<br />
4. Good lighting for press photography.<br />
5. Engineers of the phone on-hand to show off the devices – not
temporary hires that don’t know what they’re talking about. I mean
Philip Berne, not some no-name.<br />
</span><br />
<br />
<center><span id="intelliTxt"><a href="http://vmsvideo.slashgear.tv/1290_mobile.mp4"><img src="http://cdn.slashgear.com/images/iphonevideo.png" /></a></span></center><span id="intelliTxt">
</span><span id="intelliTxt"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span id="intelliTxt">Samsung needs to treat this event as a press event primarily and give
the press their fair share of coverage so that they might take it to
the underground before they make their big showing worldwide. To attract
the general audience they need to sell massive amounts of smartphones,
Samsung needs to keep it simple. Bring on some all-black or all-white
screens and fly the Galaxy S III across the center with the words
“Android Perfected.”</span></div>
<span id="intelliTxt"></span><span id="intelliTxt">
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-225687" height="412" src="http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/samsung_galaxy_s_iii_leak_vietnam_1-580x4121.jpeg" title="samsung_galaxy_s_iii_leak_vietnam_1-580x4121" width="580" /><br />
</span><span id="intelliTxt"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span id="intelliTxt">Samsung needs to show that they have the only phone anyone could ever
want. They need to stop touting the details as the best bits of
information about the phone and start saying “This is what you want.”
Just like Apple does. Samsung has the ability to make an awesome device,
now they just need to assure the public that they’ve got that ability. </span></div>
<span id="intelliTxt"></span><span id="intelliTxt">
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-225689" height="366" src="http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/qualcomm_iphone.jpeg" title="qualcomm_iphone" width="580" /><br />
</span><span id="intelliTxt"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span id="intelliTxt">And what about the iPhone 5? It will be amazing, will have more than
just your average bunch of upgrades, and will be Apple’s next
powerhouse. Think of the upgrades the iPhone 4S had over the iPhone 4.
Then think of the upgrades the iPhone 4 had over the iPhone 3GS. These
jumps signify what you’ll see here in 2012 for the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5
will be a revolutionary device not just because it will have a set of
perfectly legitimately awesome features, but because Apple will say it’s
the best. Because of that, it will be.</span></div>

Samsung is going to unveil its much-anticipated Galaxy S III smartphone
early tomorrow at a press event in London. Set to start at 0030hrs IST
on May 4, this event will finally lift the lid of the Galaxy S II
successor.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Despite the blogs and technology websites going into
overdrive with rumours and leaks in the last few months, we hardly know
any confirmed details about this smartphone. Samsung has only revealed
one detail about Galaxy S III so-far in the form of Exynos 4 Quad
processor, which will be a part of this device.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Even the latest teaser from the Korean manufacturer has done little more than creating hype about the phone.</div>

<b>Rumour roundup</b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Various
leaks in the recent few weeks have suggested that Galaxy S III will
sport an S II kind of form-factor, just a little bigger. We have seen
several contradicting leaks on the display front, but most of them have talked about a 4.7/4.8-inch HD display.</div>
The presence of Android 4.0
aka Ice Cream Sandwich is also pretty much certain about the smartphone,
and we expect to see a revamped version of company's Touchwiz skin for
the smartphone.<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Coming to the camera, the rumours have it that we
might see a 12-megapixels sensor on the Galaxy S III, which wouldn't be
surprising considering the megapixel wars in the recent times. </div>
Connectivity options are expected to be pretty much standard, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC, and HSPA+.<br />
There are hardly any believable leaks for the storage, RAM or exact model number of Galaxy S III.<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With
the actual event just 14-hours away, we would not go too much in the
rumours and wait for the official announcement to hear more about the
smartphone from the company itself.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Make sure to check back early
tomorrow for all the juicy details about the phone, you can also watch
the webcast of the press event directly on company's Facebook page,
teaser website or the Unpacked app on any Android device.</div>

<div class="clearfix">
If you’re travelling with Virgin Australia in the near future and you
find yourself in business class, you’ll more than likely be offered a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
to consume media content on during the flight. The devices will also be
available on select flight that have a duration exceeding 3 hours
(think Melbourne -> Perth) for economy class travellers as well — for
an extra cost, of course. That pricing hasn’t been announced just yet,
but Virgin is assuring everyone pricing will be cleared up before
full-on launch. <br />
Each tablet will have a range of content already loaded onto it, and
Virgin are working on installing Lufthansa BoardConnect wireless
streaming to certain planes so that even more content can be consumed
over Wi-Fi.<br />
Virgin will have the tablets available for rent on their Airbus 330s
and Boeing 737-600s within in the next 12-18 months. It looks like
flying just far more appetising on Virgin.<br />

<a href="http://samsung-galaxy-tab-specs.blogspot.com/2012/04/samsung-galaxy-s3-specs.html" target="_blank">samsung galaxy s3 specs </a></h2>
Samsung has confirmed that the new Galaxy S3 will be launched on May 3 at Earls Court, London - will it be your next Galaxy smartphone though?.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Of course, this is not the final design of the device at all, which
is very obvious, with notes and tape all over the device. But, the leak,
if true, does give us some useful insight into what Samsung is hoping
to achieve with its next flagship device:</div>
<ul>
<li>It features Android 4.0 with a TouchWiz layering</li>
<li>The prototype suggests that Samsung is looking to include a physical home button (as previous leaks have suggested)</li>
<li>The above device features the Android 4.0-recommended virtual buttons</li>
<li>The
position of the virtual menu keys have been switched around, with the
recent apps moving to the left and the back button shifting to the right</li>
<li>The
“Twonky Server” app features an additional virtual button (seen above),
which might suggest that Samsung isn’t happy with in-app menu options</li>
</ul>
<b>Quad-core Exynos power</b>: Amidst a slew of prototype
leaks and benchmark app revelations, Samsung has finally decided to
offer up something official about the upcoming Galaxy S3.
Although some sources had pegged a dual-core chip as its powerplant,
Samsung now says that the quad-core Exynos 4212 will drive the company’s
next hero phone. <br />
All that’s left to be
revealed is the clock speed — 1.4GHz has been previously tipped, but we
won’t know the whole truth until Samsung Mobile Unpacked next month.<a href="http://www.geek.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/exynos4procss834quad1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="195" src="http://www.geek.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/exynos4procss834quad1.jpg" width="320" /></a><span id="intellitxt" name="intellitxt"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The new 1.4GHz quad-core SoC is built on 32-nanometer architecture, and Samsung says the chipset will offer significant performance improvements over its previous-generation Exynos processor while consuming 20% less power. “<i>The quad-core processor offers phenomenal multitasking abilities surpassing any single or dual application processor</i>,” Samsung’s VP of System LSI marketing Taehoon Kim said. “<i>Since all the cores must share a single battery, the power management and efficiency in the limited battery capacity are indispensable for mobile computing devices. Given the diverse functionalities consumers are demanding from their mobile devices today, the Exynos 4 Quad meets those high-performance needs while keeping power consumption very low</i>.” Samsung’s full press release follows below. </div>
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8NnVU8R6mAU" width="560"></iframe>
<b><br /></b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Samsung Galaxy S3 operating system</b> : Samsung is already releasing test versions of an Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy S 2, the S 3 is all but guaranteed to arrive with a version of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich release. Samsung's TouchWiz user interface skin layered are expected.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Memory </b>: will be 1GB RAM, 16GB SD<br />
<br />
<b>S3 display</b> : S3 would feature a 4.6" screen</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>S3 camera</b>: expect to 12MP camera</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Price</b>: Obviously we
don't have pricing details for an unannounced phone, so all we can do is
speculate. Given the recent launch of the Galaxy Nexus,
which sold for an enormous £520 around its launch and for the following
few weeks and was available on contracts starting at £36, that's the
high-end level we expect of the S 3. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Fruit Ninja is an addictive <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD8">game</span> from Halfbrick Studios and is a smashing hit on the iOS and Android <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD11">platforms</span>.
The simple idea of slicing fruits turned out to be a great success, and
Fruit Ninja can be counted as one of the best and up-put-down-able <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD9">games</span> ever made for a <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD2">mobile</span>,
or, a Tablet! Although it seems that Fruit Ninja is not released for
the Galaxy Tab P1000 on the Android Market, there is absolutely no need
to worry. The best and the only <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD7">alternative</span> way is to have Applanet installed in your Tab. Here’s how</div>
<br />
<object height="315" width="560"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ROag7hqCc18?version=3&hl=en_US">
</param>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Fruit Ninja is a <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD3">game for</span> all
ages. Weather its a 2 year old kid or a very old man, Fruit Ninja is
very easy to operate. Slice fruits, that’s it? Not really. You can play
on an Arcade mode and make a highscore depending on how many fruits you
sliced before you missed three, or sliced a bomb! Its mainly based on
your reaction time, starting from <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD12">when you</span> see a fruit and slice it before it goes back, or when you see a bomb and have enough sense to leave it without a scratch.<span id="more-125"></span></div>
<a href="http://galaxytab-samsung.net/fruit-ninja-for-galaxy-tab/fruit-ninja-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-128"><img alt="" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-128" height="300" src="http://galaxytab-samsung.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/fruit-ninja-2-200x300.jpg" title="fruit ninja 2" width="200" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Other modes include Time and Dojo etc in which you see how many you
can slice before the time runs out. There is also an online scoreboard,
so its not that easy to be the best. It takes an attentive mind and a
practised blade, err finger, to make you the number one Fruiter! </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As I have a 7 inch screen, the graphics tend to be a little on the bad side, and because of the bigger display, seem sort of <i>stretched </i>out. The thing I love about Fruit Ninja is that everything in <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD6">the game</span>
is controlled by your blade. It moves wherever your finger does, and of
course, with the help of multi-touch support, you can have as many
blades as you like on the screen. Even the Option Menu has something to
be sliced before the game starts! After you play the game for a while, you’ll be able to unlock new kinds of blades of different shapes, colors and sizes.</div>
<br />
<center></center>
<a href="http://galaxytab-samsung.net/fruit-ninja-for-galaxy-tab/fruit-nija-3/" rel="attachment wp-att-129"><img alt="" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-129" height="300" src="http://galaxytab-samsung.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/fruit-nija-3-200x300.jpg" title="fruit nija 3" width="200" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What makes it so addictive is the temptation and determination to
beat your last highscore, making Fruit Ninja a must have for the <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD1">Samsung</span> Galaxy Tab. Here is an <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD5">official</span> arcade mode <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD10">trailer</span> video:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="youtube"></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To download Fruit Ninja, first get Applanet and then search in it for Fruit Ninja. Download the 10mb file, <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD4">install</span>, and enjoy!</div>

Amazon appstore announced a free
game download today via mail. It is actually a paid game but Amazon has
given the opportunity for its app store users to try the game for
limited time for FREE. I jumped on to the galaxy tab and tried out <i><b>Plants VS Zombies</b></i>.
The initial verdict is it is a fun game. No noticeable glitches. And
the 7inch galaxy tab screen provides a really cool gaming experience.
So, without further delay, here is the Plants Vs Zombies review.<br />
<span id="more-179"></span><br />
<h2>
Plants Vs Zombies . Game story</h2>
<a href="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-loading.png"><img alt="Planets vs zombies game review launch screen" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-182" height="300" src="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-loading.png" title="Planets vs zombies Game review" width="300" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Zombies are attacking your house and the only way to defend them is
by planting different attacking plants on your lawn. There are different
types of zombies and there are different kinds of plants. If a zombie
breaches the last line of plant defense and reach your house, they will
EAT YOUR BRAIN. So, basically, you have to plant plants strategically
and defend the house from the zombie. We need sunlight to plant trees
and zombies can attack during day or night. In the night we have special
mushrooms to give us sunlight along with the sunflower plant. You have
to find a balance between planting enough sunlight producing plants and
attacking plants.</div>
<h2>
Game Intro screen</h2>
<a href="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Starting-screen.png"><img alt="Plants Vs zombies free game download launch screen" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-183" height="300" src="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Starting-screen.png" title="Plants Vs Zombies game review Launch screen" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The graphics is good and game is more like a strategy – Adventure
game. It has all the ingredients to make it an addictive game. I have
played around 12 levels and if I didn’t have to write this review, I
would have continued playing. The game loads without much delay. You
have to enter the adventure area first by clicking the adventure button
on the toomb stone.</div>
<a href="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Username-prompt.png"><img alt="Plants Vs zombies game review returning user" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-184" height="300" src="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Username-prompt.png" title="Plants Vs Zombies review Username prompt" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<h2>
Plants vs Zombies a walkthrough</h2>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The game starts with a learner level where instructions are given
about how to defend the house from zombies. Initially during the first
level, the lawn will be very narrow and there will be only one zombie
approaching the house. But as game progresses, the lawn becomes larger
and larger.</div>
<br />
<a href="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-Adventure2.png"><img alt="Plants vs zombies game review" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-185" height="300" src="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-Adventure2-300x175.png" title="Plants vs Zombies review Game Adventure2" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After completing each level, a new plant is awarded which has got
some special purpose. Also notice the lawn mover at the end of the lawn
just before the house entrance. If due to some reason, a zombie eats all
the plants and reaches the end of the lawn, then the lawn mover will
kill the first zombie. It is only one time for one column of lawn. After
that the next zombie which reaches the end of the lawn will enter the
house and eat your brain <img alt=":)" class="wp-smiley" src="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif" /> .</div>
<a href="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-Adventure3.png"><img alt="Plants Vs Zombies Game review" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-186" height="300" src="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-Adventure3-300x175.png" title="Plants vs Zombies Game Adventure3" width="300" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As shown in the image above, after the first level in which you have
to defend the zombie with pea spitting plants, you will get a sunflower
which will give you sun (shown as 150 in the above image). Each plant
requires a certain amount of sunlight so that we can plant it. So
sunlight from the sunflowers is one of the most crucial element in the
game.</div>
<a href="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-Adventure4.png"><img alt="Plants Vs Zombies Game review" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-187" height="300" src="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-Adventure4-300x175.png" title="Plants Vs Zombies Game review Game Adventure4" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As shown in the above picture, after getting a new plant, the app
will tell you the significance of that plant. As the game progresses,
you will get other tools like a shovel with which you can remove a
planted plant to make space for another plant. You will also have a
crazy neighbor that speaks gibberish who will sell you tools for cash
you collect from the lawn by killing the zombies.</div>
<a href="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-Adventure10.png"><img alt="Plants Vs Zombies Game review" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-190" height="300" src="http://www.galaxytabusers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Game-Adventure10-300x175.png" title="Plants Vs Zombies Game review Game Adventure10" width="300" /></a><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You have to think on your feet and adapt to different fleets of
zombies while playing the game. The key is finding the right balance
between attack, defense and finance. The above image shows a stage which
was played at night where there is little sunlight. So we have to
initially invest heavily on the mushrooms and sun flowers. Then slowly
ramp up the attack.</div>
Here is the gallery I have collected. Each image is pretty self explanatory.<br />

<h2>
Plants vs Zombies review. End veridict</h2>
It is a pretty cool game. I think you should give it a try if you
like mild strategy games. I have only played the initial levels. So no
idea, what is in store in the higher levels. I am sure that there was
lot of thought put into planning the levels to make a better engaging
user experience. I will give it a 7.5/10<br />

There is this amazingly simple yet addicting game called <a href="http://adf.ly/7lBL4" target="_blank">Draw Something </a>.
Heard of it? Being a huge sensation and already downloaded over 10
million times on Android, and 50 million in total I have a feeling you
have. Today they’ve pushed a large update bringing some improvements and
features users have been begging for. Check below for full details on
the awesome new update and get ready to draw. </div>
<img alt="" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-87819" height="479" src="http://cdn.androidcommunity.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/drawmain-540x479.jpg" title="drawmain" width="540" /><br />
<span id="more-87817"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
First off and one of the most requested features was comments. Just
like Words with Friends you can now post comments and chat with players
while you draw. Laugh about how terrible your drawing skills are, just
don’t give any hints. Then OMGPOP included a one-click undo last move
button, so you can easily erase an entire stroke or line, without trying
to be precise with the eraser. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That isn’t all either. We now have pull to refresh where you simply
slide down just like Facebook, Twitter and other apps to instantly
refresh the game, and they’ve also included push notifications. This way
you’ll know it’s your turn instantly — not just when you launch the
game. Sadly it isn’t all good news though. Obviously the free version
has some sort of ads included, but after this update I’ve been greeted
with long, 10 second video ads for Verizon and other things since
updating. That is a bummer but then again that’s why we have a paid
version too. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The new changes are awesome and you can enjoy them right now by hitting the download link below. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The
rising giant of the casual gaming world, Zynga, has recently acquired
OMGPOP, the struggling game developer behind the hugely popular Draw
Something game for Android and iOS. Now, it seems that Zynga is hard at
work whipping Draw Something into even better form, to ensure that the
Pictionary-style game maintains its momentum.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Just days after the
$180 million acquisition was announced, we found out that a huge update
to Draw Something is coming, one that has the game’s legions of fans
very excited. And for good reason – the upcoming features will give the
game some much needed polish. If you got an email yesterday from
Zynga/OMGPOP, you probably already know about these changes, but just in
case you didn’t, here’s the gist of it.</div>
<h2>
<span style="color: green;">Draw Something: New Features & Changes</span></h2>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As
you probably know, Zynga is laser-focused on the social side, more
precisely, on building communities around its casual game titles. So, a
lot of the new features that will be added to Draw Something reflect
Zynga’s social obsession, although quite a few are based on popular
demand. Here are the changes:</div>
<ul>
<li>Drawings can now be shared via
Facebook or Twitter. This is an update that is mostly aimed at iOS
users, but Android fans will welcome it as well.</li>
<li>You’ll be able
to save your drawings to your device’s photo library (a feature that
was requested by many users). As of now, Draw Something doesn’t have a
save option, meaning that your “masterpieces” are forever lost with each
new round. Sure, you can take screenshots (which many people did), but
not everyone can do this and not on every phone. The save drawing option
is probably one of the best features that are being added into the
game.</li>
<li>An Undo button is being added for your last brush stroke.</li>
<li>Additional words are being added (finally!)</li>
<li>Android devices will now get notifications (also a frequent fan request).</li>
<li>The max streak number will be set to 999.</li>
<li>Game speed and performance will be improved.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<img alt="draw-something-game-android" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-67829" height="330" src="http://1.androidauthority.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/draw-something-game-android.jpg" width="600" /><br />
<div style="float: none; margin: 1px 0 1px 0; text-align: center;">
<ins style="border: none; display: inline-table; height: 60px; margin: 0; padding: 0; position: relative; visibility: visible; width: 468px;"></ins><br />
<ins id="aswift_0_anchor" style="border: none; display: block; height: 60px; margin: 0; padding: 0; position: relative; visibility: visible; width: 468px;"></ins></div>
</div>
Like any game, Draw Something has some problems that require urgent fixing. The bug fixes will include:<br />
<ul>
<li>Fixing a known bug that caused the game to crash.</li>
<li>Fixing display errors.</li>
<li>Fixing bugs that caused the bombs and coins to no longer display.</li>
</ul>
<h2>
<span style="color: green;">Where is Draw Something heading?</span></h2>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Draw
Something is at the top of the Google Play Store games charts (well,
Angry Birds Space took the first spot, but DS is still in top 3),
holding for many weeks the first position in both free and paid app
charts. The relatively small download makes the app easy to acquire and
start playing. The sense of competitive play and the sharing of ideas
between players really make the Draw Something experience enjoyable.</div>
<img alt="draw-something-zynga" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-67825" height="330" src="http://1.androidauthority.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/draw-something-zynga.jpg" width="600" /><span style="color: green;"><i><span class="source_link_wrap"> <span style="color: green;">TheVerge</span> </span></i></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Zynga
spent A LOT of money to buy the game from the OMGPOP, and you can be
sure they want to get their money’s worth! There is no doubt that Zynga
will keep improving and promoting Draw Something, but just what the
future holds is uncertain. In just a few weeks, Draw Something may be a
thing of the past. Or who knows – it may go on to achieve Angry
Birds-level fame…</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For now, lets focus on this big update that made
many obsessive-compulsive scribblers so happy. What are your thoughts?
Will you enjoy the game even more now?</div>

We love the Samsung Galaxy Note. Pachyderms named Peter love the Galaxy Note. At last count, about five million of you out there in Internet land love it too. But if you’ve become as enamored as I have with OMGPOP’s Draw Something
over the last few weeks, you’ve got at least one more reason to either
love or crave the gigantic smartphone: its superior
artistic capabilities. As noted in our previous story, it makes a great
platform for the Pictionary-style gaming app, thanks to its 5.3-inch
screen and built-in digital stylus.</div>
<img alt="" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-87221" height="296" src="http://cdn.androidcommunity.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/draw-something-galaxy-note-540x296.jpg" title="draw something galaxy note" width="540" /><span id="more-87215"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Samsung thinks so too, and they’re spreading the news. In a new video
that’s surprisingly sedate, Samsung USA’s Director of Product Marketing
Ryan Bidan lets users know exactly how useful the one-two combo of a
big screen and pen input is when playing Draw Something. his opponent
(who, to be fair, is probably using a Galaxy S II) gives a pre-school
rendition of an office building. Ryan chooses a Ringpop as his phrase,

That’s great, Ryan, really great. Now why don’t you let someone with a
little more artistic sensibility go after it with that big screen and

to Draw Something like this? Show them beating the pants out of the

2, for the past week and can report that Samsung is making some
progress on the 7-inch form factor. In fact if it weren’t for Samsung’s
own Tab 7.7 with Super AMOLED+
display (which Verizon has cornered the market on in the US), I’d say
it is the best small form factor tablet you can get your hands on. And
for $249, why wouldn’t you? Here’s why:<span id="more-26062"></span>
<br />
<br />
Samsung has responded to the $199 Kindle and $249 Nook by dropping
the price of its 7-inch device to $249. To get there, Samsung is using
some more inexpensive parts that it has on higher end products. The
most notable cost savings is on the display which is a TFT LCD rather
than Samsung’s higher end SuperAMOLED (as in the 7.7). It also appears a
little weaker in the Wifi department than its Galaxy Tab 7 predecessor
which got a signal at my desk about 20 yards from my router. This
device wouldn’t work at my desk and required a few more paces toward the
wifi router.
<br />
As far as hardware is concerned, that’s where
the disappointments end. In fact, it is an big improvement in many
areas. Tab 2 is significantly thinner than the Tab 7 but about the same
as the Tab Plus) and feels better in hand than the square cornered
Amazon Kindle. It also feels more sturdy. The speakers are some of the
best I’ve heard on a 7-inch tablet, certainly better than Amazon’s
effort.<br />
Where the Samsung moves away from the eBook Tablets like Kindle and
Nook however are the cameras. These are both solid for video chatting
and the backside is medium-high grade for a phone. These are very much
the same solid grade 3 Megapixel as the previous Galaxy Tabs but unlike
the previous model, this one doesn’t have a flash (and the pictures are
not great in low light. Samsung includes adequate photo and video
editors as well.<br />
Under the hood, Samsung has the same dual core processor but they
feel faster than its predecessor or those color eBook readers.
This might have more to do with optimized Android 4.0 with a now
familiar heavy Touchwiz overlay.<br />
The one hardware area where this thing jumps over the competition is the IR blaster, which, when coupled with an optimized Peel remote app brings a great living room experience to bear.<br />
Setting up Peel is easy with a wizard that asks you your Brand of TV
and knows your location and uses it to help figure out your cable plan.
Once set up you have an interactive TV guide at your fingertips. This
feature alone pushes the Tab 2 above the expensive Harmony remotes you
get from Logitech.<br />
Samsung throws in some other bonuses including games like Angry Birds
and a free 1 year 50GB Drop box subscription (normally $100). Year 2
and on are on you however.<br />
As far as apps, Hulu is not yet ready for this Tab (even though it
works fine on the Kindle with the exact same screen) but Netflix is
working reasonably well (scrolling is a bit jerky but w.e.).<br />
Battery life is great and the system doesn’t use much power when not
in use. I’ve used this tablet for about an hour or two a day for four
days straight. My Kindle or older Galaxy Tabs would have died long ago.
This one is just starting to warn me of power issues.<br />
<strong>Conclusion:</strong><br />
This is a nice evolution on the 7-inch tablet. Ice Cream Sandwich,
although heavily overlaid with Touchwiz, makes this a leading tablet
contender on top of tried and true two year Galaxy Tab lineage. If you
are thinking Kindle but want some better hardware and cameras, along
with this great IR blaster Peel remote functionality, the $50 is easily
justifiable in my book.How to marketing your business on the Internethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15266449219141723775noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763153187138039659.post-41886934065281410482012-04-18T23:44:00.001-07:002012-04-18T23:44:17.454-07:00Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 4G LTE Review – Great Tablet, Terrible Price<br />
When the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 debuted at the IFA technology conference in Berlin last year everyone fell in love with the gorgeous display and the sleek design. I was initially disappointed when the company said they had no plans to launch it in the U.S., but at CES this year they went ahead and made those plans to everyone’s delight.<br />
The Tab 7.7 has almost everything tablet shoppers are looking for.
It’s light and thin with an attractive design. The HD display has plenty
of pixels. It’s speedy in every way thanks to 4G LTE connectivity and a
fast processor. And it lasts long enough on a charge that most people
can go all day without needing to plug it in.<br />
Despite all of this, I suspect most consumers will pass on the Tab
7.7 thanks to the price: $499 with a two-year data contract on Verizon
Wireless.<br />
Yes. <em>With</em>.<br />
In a market where there are so many less expensive tablet choices out
there (many from Samsung itself), can the Galaxy Tab 7.7 justify its
premium price?<br />

<h2>
<a href="" name="1"></a>Galaxy Tab 7.7 Hands-On</h2>
Our hands-on video with the Galaxy Tab at CES 2012<br />
<span class="embed-youtube" style="display: block; text-align: center;"></span><br />
<h2>
<a href="" name="2"></a>Design and Hardware</h2>
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-08.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-101448" height="600" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-08.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7" width="600" /></a>The
Tab 7.7 looks very similar to the Tab 7.0 Plus and the other members of
the Galaxy Tab line. The rounded corners, curved edges, and metallic
back come together to make a very holdable tablet. The 12 ounce weight
doesn’t hurt.<br />
Though similar in size to the Tab 7.0 Plus, it has a noticeably wider
stance (7.7 x 5.2 inches instead of 7.6 x 4.8). It’s also a hair
thinner at 0.31 inches as opposed to 0.39. The differences between the
two have more to do with hardware and specs.<br />
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-02.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Card Slots" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-101446" height="217" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-02.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Card Slots" width="620" /></a><br />
Aside from the proprietary 30-pin port on the bottom, this Galaxy Tab
has a microSD card slot (neither the 10.1 or 8.9 models do), a mini SIM
slot for the LTE card from Verizon, an IR port, and a headphone jack.
The two card slots integrate smoothly into the curved edges and have covers that maintain the overall line and keep dirt out of the ports.<br />
The power button and volume rocker stick out just enough so you can find them by feel, but also integrate nicely into the curve.<br />
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-04.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Back" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-101444" height="554" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-04.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Back" width="620" /></a><br />
I’m glad that Samsung went with the two-tone silver and gray metallic
for the back instead of the white plastic. It just looks classier. The
only thing that mars it is the raised Samsung logo, which doesn’t have a
pleasant tactile feel.<br />
<h2>
<a href="" name="3"></a>Galaxy Tab 7.7 Display</h2>
The 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display boasts a 1280 x 800 resolution. This is a lot of pixels to fit in such a small screen.<br />
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen04.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Playing Movies" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-101460" height="387" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen04-620x387.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Playing Movies" width="620" /></a><br />
But, as we saw recently with the Galaxy Note (which has the same res
and the same type of screen), high pixel density doesn’t mean you’ll end
up squinting at a screen filled with too-tiny elements. Instead, you
get the benefit of crisp fonts even at small sizes and the ability to
watch 720p HD content with all pixels intact.<br />
Plus, the display is just gorgeous to look at — the depth of color
impressed me, as did the deep blacks. Despite a glossy screen, the Tab
7.7 has viewing angles wide enough to share the screen with a couple of people.<br />
Just as with the Galaxy Note, I used
the Tab 7.7 with the brightness turned way down, sometimes to 0, with
no visibility issues. Out in the sun you’ll want to turn it up, and at
100 percent it’s visible even in strong sunlight.<br />
<h2>
<a href="" name="4"></a>Performance and Hardware</h2>
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen07.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 GTA III" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-101463" height="387" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen07-620x387.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 GTA III" width="620" /></a><br />
With a dual-core 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 processor inside backed
by 1GB of RAM, it was no surprise that the Tab 7.7 proved speedy in
every aspect. When swiping around the interface, opening apps, or
playing games, the tablet responded with a swiftness, never forcing me
to wait long.<br />
I loaded up <em>Fruit Ninja</em> and noted no lag or dropped frames; the screen always responded accurately to my swipes. Playing <em>Grand Theft Auto III</em>
really showed off the Tab 7.7 prowess. All the visuals came out crisp
and clear and the game never showed signs of stutter or struggle.<br />
Since the screen has such a high resolution the size wasn’t too
small, even with games that have complex visuals and lots of elements.
Gaming on this tablet is a lot of fun.<br />
It’s also a great multimedia platform. Videos look good and play
smoothly. And audio from the speakers is much louder and fuller than I
expect on tablets of this size. Output via the headphone jack is above
average in quality.<br />
The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE connection added to the overall speed. I
never had to wait too long for a download and regularly saw speeds above
what the carrier promises.<br />
<h2>
<a href="" name="5"></a>Galaxy Tab 7.7 Battery Life</h2>
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen09.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Battery Usage" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-101465" height="543" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen09.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Battery Usage" width="620" /></a><br />
Samsung claims that the tablet’s 5100 mAh battery will last for 12.5
hours on 4G LTE, and my hands-on time with the device almost matched
that. I was able to get a little over 10 hours out of the Tab 7.7 with
heavy use that included over two hours playing games and over four hours
using the mobile hotspot feature in a cafe.<br />
I also noted great standby time. Over the course of two days I used
that Tab 7.7 intermittently to check email, play games, surf the web,
and read a book. I only had to charge it after 48 hours, and even then
the battery wasn’t completely drained.<br />

The Tab 7.7 ships with Android 3.2 Honeycomb with Samsung’s TouchWiz
user interface on top. Samsung has not announced any plans to upgrade
this tablet to Ice Cream Sandwich.<br />
TouchWiz doesn’t slow the tablet down even though it’s a pretty
extensive skin on top of Android. I’m a fan, personally, but anyone
looking for the “pure” Android experience should look elsewhere.<br />
TouchWiz changes several of Honeycomb’s visual elements, making the
interface less Tron-esque. It also adds some nice utilities like a
screenshot feature, a quick app tray accessible from almost any screen,
and the Samsung handwriting keyboard.<br />
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen03.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Gmail in Portrait" class="alignnone wp-image-101459" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen03-387x620.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Gmail in Portrait" width="300" /></a><br />
Since the Tab 7.7 has the right screen resolution, most of Honeycomb
looks good, even with the 7-inch display. However, there are a couple of
areas where things don’t work out quite right.<br />
The Notification Tray feels a little big on the screen compared to
how it looks on 10-inch or even 8.9-inch tablets. Also, Gmail’s nice
two-column layout doesn’t fit on the screen when in portrait mode,
resulting in oddly cut off emails. This is fine in landscape mode and
users can look at just the email without the sidebar. Still, it’s a
weird error to encounter.<br />
Even though this Tab doesn’t come with a pen, it still has some
features that would work well in combination with a capacitive stylus.
The handwriting keyboard, for instance, which you can get to by choosing
the Samsung keyboard from the list of inputs. (Users can also choose
Swype or the standard Android keyboard.)<br />
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen02.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Handwriting Keyboard" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-101458" height="620" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/GTab77-screen02-471x620.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Handwriting Keyboard" width="471" /></a><br />
Pen Memo, found in the quick app tray, gives the option to type a short note or scribble/draw one.<br />
Other Quick Apps available in the Tab 7.7′s little drawer include
Email (which does not hook into the Gmail app, grr), Task Manager,
Calendar, Music Player, Alarm, and World Clock. With this version of
TouchWiz users can now edit the drawer to take away apps they don’t use,
though you still can’t add any app you choose there.<br />
Verizon and Samsung included several non-Google pre-loaded apps. There are a few CRAPPS in the bunch, but most of what’s here is useful.<br />
This Galaxy Tab is one of two devices certified as Samsung Approved
For Enterprise (SAFE). On top of the existing encryption in Android,
Samsung adds 256-bit hardware-based encryption that applies to both the
on-board memory and an SD card. Plus, there’s built-in Mobile Device
Management that allows users to lock down a device if it’s lost or
stolen.<br />
Samsung’s email, calendar and contacts apps are fully compatible with
Exchange ActiveSync (including two-way info exchange). The Tab also has
full VPN support for secure connections to the company server.<br />
<h2>
<a href="" name="7"></a>Cameras</h2>
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-05.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Camera" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-101443" height="426" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-05.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Camera" width="620" /></a><br />
As with most tablets, the cameras are nothing to get excited about.<br />
The camera can be slow, thus pictures rarely come out crisp. Even when you can hold still, indoor performance is not great.<br />

Outdoor pictures are better, but when taking shots of objects half in
sunlight and half in shadow, the shadow elements always get the shaft.<br />
<br />Other than that, the camera app has several useful settings and
options: White Balance, Exposure, Scene Modes and more. I really like
the ability to choose which of these settings is available to me as a
shortcut on the main camera screen.<br />

While the Night Scene mode makes taking pictures in low light
possible, if not pretty, there’s no helping this camera once you switch
over to video recording. It’s capable of 720p, but when shooting indoors
in medium or even decent light, the video is super grainy as you’ll see
in the samples below. Outdoor video is better, but since the screen is
glossy you may have some trouble seeing what you’re shooting if the sun
is aimed right at the tablet.<br />

<h2>
<a href="" name="9"></a>Is the Galaxy Tab 7.7 Worth It?</h2>
As great as this tablet is overall, the $499 price tag is going to be a big stumbling block for many consumers.<br />
Currently, it’s only available on Verizon Wireless — no Wi-Fi only
option — for $499 with a two-year data contract. The least expensive
plan available on contract is $30/month for 2GB of data. This includes
the mobile hotspot feature (tablet customers don’t have to pay extra).
All together that’s $720 plus tax for data over two years.<br />
You can get a 16GB iPad for $499 with no contract commitment.<br />
Some might say that’s not exactly a fair comparison since the $499
iPad is Wi-Fi only. All right then. But the 16GB 4G LTE iPad’s price is
$629 and does not require a contract.<br />
You can buy the Tab 7.7 without committing to a contract, but then the price goes up to $699.<br />
Normally I wouldn’t compare the iPad to the Tab 7.7 because they’re
in different tablet categories. A 7-inch tablet is not the same beast as
a nearly 10-inch tablet. But the cost of the Galaxy Tab makes the
comparison necessary.<br />
<a href="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-06.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-101068];player=img;"><img alt="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-101449" height="600" src="http://gottabemobile.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Galaxy-Tab-77-06.jpg" title="Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7" width="600" /></a>It’s also much more expensive than other popular 7-inch tablets like the Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet ($199-$249), but those devices have modest specs to keep the price down. The Lenovo IdeaPad A1
($249) is another competitor with better specs than those two, but
doesn’t have a hi-res display, a dual-core processor, or even a tablet
operating system like the tab 7.7. The upcoming ASUS Eee Pad MeMO is only supposed to be $249 with comparable specs. Since it’s not out yet I can’t make a definitive comparison.<br />
Still, looking at the competition and pricing, the Tab 7.7 is a hard sell.<br />
The perfect buyer for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a consumer who wants a
smaller tablet because it’s lighter and easier to slip into a small bag
or a large pocket than an iPad or even a Galaxy Tab 10.1, yet wants or
needs top of the line specs and won’t settle for devices that don’t have
everything. This theoretical consumer also needs a fast connection and
doesn’t spend a lot of time near Wi-Fi hotspots.<br />
If you are that person, then the Tab 7.7 is for you. Most people are not that person.<br />
In the end, Samsung made a beautiful, speedy, sweet tablet that is
apparently so expensive to manufacture that they couldn’t offer it for a
price that makes sense in the American market. And that’s a shame,
because I think that the consumers contemplating a Kindle Fire or
IdeaPad A1 or even an ASUS MeMO would love the Galaxy Tab 7.7. But at
this price they’re not going to give it a second look.<br />
